What is Yosakoi? Yosakoi is a dance originating in Kochiprefecture, Japan. Dancers perform both on stage and down parade routes atfestivals throughout the country. It is a very free dance form, with a fewrules other than the use of wooden clappers called "naruko". Thereare hundreds of teams across Japan, each with their own unique choreography,music, and costumes. ________________________
