此歌是根据叶芝的同名诗歌〈Down By the Salley Garden〉谱曲而成，
最初翻译为《柳园里》，是叶芝早年的诗作。
他的早年诗歌韵律优美，感情细腻，辞藻华丽，
象征意味浓郁，明显受到英国浪漫主义和法国象征主义诗歌的影响。

这独特的爱尔兰风笛声,纯净的如水般让人痴迷,尤其是由魔笛之称的爱尔兰风笛来演奏这首好听的音乐Dow by the salley Gordens,更是经典!百听不厌!!我会不由自主的想到泰坦尼克号里面的歌曲，都是令人断肠，让人心碎。
这首Down by the Salley Gardens还有一首由藤田惠美演绎的版本，也是经典中之经典！
