Freddy Fender 一首經典鄉村單曲 Vaya Con Dios

Freddy Fender於1937年出生於美國德州的San Benito，
他也是在當時少數幾個能寫又能歌的美裔西班牙人。
幼年時期就喜歡拿著一把吉他到處彈唱著。
16歲之時加入了Marine旗下，5年後出版了他的第一張西班牙語歌曲。

隔年自己主筆寫了一首成功的單曲”Wasted Days and Wasted Nights”
或許是交友不慎吧！他因為私藏大麻而被判必須囚禁在安哥拉國家監獄五年。
在服刑期滿三年之時，由於表現良好而獲假釋。
從此以後他遠離這些不良的習慣，重新投入他的事業生涯，並且也獲得重生。

他花了幾年時間在德州當汽車維修師父，同時也繼續完成他的社會學的學位。
1974年是他的人生轉捩點，他遇到了Huey P. Meaux。
”Before the Next Teardrop Falls” 就是在1974年完成錄製。
在1975年大放異彩獲全美流行與鄉村單曲榜雙料冠軍。

之後他加入Texas Tornadoes合唱團當主音，經常演唱一些以西班牙語為基底的歌曲，
他所發行的”La Musica De Baldemar Huerta”這張專輯還獲第44屆葛萊美獎(2002)最佳流行拉丁專輯呢！
